Tour Mass General’s Ether Dome and Russell Museum

April 16 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

During this tour you’ll visit the Paul S. Russell, MD Museum of Medical History and Innovation, where you can learn about the hospital’s more than two centuries of history and about present-day innovation, from targeted cancer therapies to immune tolerance of transplanted organs. You’ll also get to stand on the very site of the first successful public demonstration of anesthesia–in Mass General’s Ether Dome, the hospital’s 19th-century surgical amphitheater (and home to one Egyptian mummy). Tour begins at the museum. Cost: Free. Ages 13+. Advance registration required at https://mghcsftour.eventbrite.com
