Soda Fountain Science: Acids in Sodas & Cocktails

April 18 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Spend the evening with Soda Jerks and Bartenders from Mamaleh’s Deli to discuss and explore the role of acids in making sodas and cocktails

At this event we will explore the many ways acids contribute to the balance and flavor of all of our drinks. Here’s what we’ll cover:

– We’ll talk about acids in citrus and wine and how they affect our Gimlets and Manhattans.

– We’ll give an overview of citric, lactic, malic and phosphoric acid in classic soda fountain drinks as well as their newer applications at modern cocktail bars.

– We’ll discuss how carbonation affects the acidification of our drinks.

– We’ll make some jokes, make some drinks, and have some fun.

All ages are welcome to attend. You must be 21 years or older and have valid ID in order to drink alcohol.

Cost: Free. Cash bar. Online registration required.

Registration will open the week of March 18, 2019. Register here.
