Celebrate science on the green carpet with a film screening & dessert reception! The event features the microdocumentary series Storied Women, highlighting historic accomplishments of women at MIT, along with the local debut screening of the living history film Humanity Needs Dreamers: A Visit With Marie Curie (40 mins). The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and an “edible astronomy” reception featuring Stellar Desserts.
About The Film: Two-time Nobel Prize winner Marie Skłodowska Curie is best known for pioneering the field of radioactivity, including her discovery of the elements Polonium and Radium, but few understand the obstacles she faced just to get into the laboratory.
