What the heck is a science festival, anyway?
Science festivals are public celebrations that offer a wide range of science, technology, engineering, art and math-related activities – creative exhibitions, demonstrations, performances, tours, debates, workshops, concerts – over a period of several days, in a variety of locations.
When will it be held this year?
Friday, April 13 through Sunday, April 22, 2018
Where is this crazy festival being held?
All over Cambridge, greater Boston and surrounding areas! 200+ events will be held in various venues across the city and beyond.
So what would I actually do at this festival?
Well, at different events you’ll do different things. At some events, like plays and concerts, you’ll sit, watch, and be entertained. But at most events you’ll be participating, creating, and interacting. This is not show and tell… it’s show and do!
Is the Cambridge Science Festival for kids? Families? Teens?
It’s for everyone! There are some programs specifically for kids and families, some just for teens and some just for adults.
Is it free or do I have to pay?
Many of the events at the Cambridge Science Festival are free and open to the public!… but not all. Check the schedule for ticket and reservation information.
How do I get there?
Most of the events are accessible by public transportation. Please see the upcoming detailed schedule for exact locations. There is limited parking throughout Cambridge, including public lots in Kendall, Central, and Harvard Squares.
What should I bring?
